Noun, Concrete Nouns, abstract nouns, Non-countable noun,Proper nouns,Singular Noun,Plural Nouns,The Material Noun


Noun

The name of a person, place, thing, action or quality is called Noun.

Example:

Man, Class room, fruit, breakfast, wisdom, health etc…

i.        CONCRETE NOUNS:

A noun which is a physical object and can be seen, touched or felt is known as concrete noun.
Example:
Man, Fruit, table, glass, water, milk etc…

ii.       ABSTRACT NOUNS:

The name of some quality, state or action is known as Abstract Noun.
Example:
Truth, kindness, sickness, hatred, fear, joy, pleasure, etc.

iii.              COUNTABLE NOUNS:

The nouns which can be easily counted are known as countable nouns.
Example:
Knife, plate, eggs, spoons etc…

iv.      NON-COUNTABLE NOUN:

The noun which cannot be calculated in terms of numbers are called Non-Countable Nouns.
Example:
Army, public, assembly, class, team, family, nation etc…
vi.              Compound Nouns:
Compound nouns are made up of two ore more parts and linked with a hypher or without it.
Example:
Gold-ring, side-table, bedroom, milkshake, sister in law.
vii.     Common Nouns:
          The nouns which are names of common persons, places or things are called common nouns.
Example:
Class, girl, man, mother, city, time etc…

viii.    PROPER NOUNS:

          the name of a particular person, place or thing is called a proper noun. It always capitalized.

Ix:     SINGULAR NOUN:

          The noun which indicates one person, place or thing is known as singular noun.

X:      PLURAL NOUNS:

          The noun which stands for more than one person, place or thing is known as plural noun.
THE MATERIAL NOUN:
It is the name of some material of which things are made.
