PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE:

I will ask the following questions to check the previous knowledge.
i.        what is a Tenses?
ii.       Tell me the recognition of present indefinite Tense?
iii.      What is difference between subject, verb and object?

PRESENTATION:

Voice:
Voice is that form of verb which shows whether its subject acts or is acted upon.

Active voice:

A verb is said to be in the active voice when its subject acts.

Passive voice:

A verb is said to be in the passive voice when its subject is acted upon.
1st Step:
When we’ve to change an active voice of present indefinite into passive voice we should keep in mind its formula. New subject + is/ am/ are + 3rd form of verb + by + new object. In passive voice, always 3rd form of the verb is used for example:
Ø She sings a song.
Ø A song is sung by her (Passive Voice)
If new subject is “he, She “ it or “singular noun” we use is. If new subject is “They , You, we” or” Plural noun.” We use “are” and with “I” “am” is used (e.g).
(i)      He helps me.
I am helped by him (Passive Voice).
2nd Step:

Negative:

In negative sentences we us ‘not’ after helping verb (e.g).
She does not speak the truth.
The truth is not spoken by her. (Passive voice)
Interrogative:
In interrogative sentences helping verbs is used in the beginning of the sentence (e.g)
Does he read the book?
Is the book read by him? (Passive voice).
